US-GA-SAVANNAHOverviewManager of Recoveries and Loss MitigationSavannah, GAThe TMX Finance Family of Companies is looking for a Manager of Recoveries and Loss Mitigation to join our team and be part of a sharp, dedicated, and proactive team that provides guidance in interpreting the laws and regulations that govern our industry.
Our legal team members stay up to date on areas of the law that could impact our organization, and work daily to mitigate any potential or actual risks.
In this role, you will run point on fraud and recovery initiatives within the Legal Department and provide strategic operational support.
You will manage collateral recovery programs and lead projects focused on driving recoveries, and fraud-based initiatives, while mitigating risk and fraud losses.
Additionally, you will serve as a liaison between internal and external business units to facilitate and provide transparency into recovery efforts.
Responsibilities Lead a collateral recovery program from start to finish by assessing requests as they are submitted by field team members to ensure they meet the appropriate criteria, reviewing accounts, and driving case strategy with various outside counsel across the Company's footprint.
Ensure consistency across all states in which the Company operates, with strict attention to detail so filings are accurate and in line with the Company's vision.
Execute awards issued to the Company by closely monitoring filings and tracking service, rectifying any deficiencies in order to keep recovery filings moving and assure the collateral is recovered timely.
When necessary, provide guidance and support to partners in Field Operations in preparation and attendance of hearings, and recover awarded collateral.
Partner with other legal team members from the Escalations, Regulatory, Bankruptcy, and Legal Operations teams to analyze claims and identify trends, highlighting gaps in procedures/processes and work to close gaps and mitigate risk.
Manage the entire book of collateral recoveries in partnership with the Associate Director of Recoveries and Loss Mitigation and provide regular reporting to demonstrate the performance of the recovery portfolio, with insight into spend versus recovery dollars, duration, and other recovery metrics.
Coordinate with field leadership to ensure that accounts with impounded collateral are tracked through Legal and are managed and dispositioned properly to ensure optimal recovery dollars from these accounts.
Provide excellent customer service at all points of contact, whether it be with external or internal business units or third-party vendors.
Support the Chief Legal Officer, Vice President of Strategic Legal Operations, and Associate Director of Recoveries and Loss Mitigation and other members of Legal Leadership with ad hoc recovery projects and other initiatives designed to drive recoveries towards the Company's bottom line.
Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent combination of formal education, training and/or related experience 2
years of relevant legal and related work experience Ability to create and maintain a document management system Ability to think strategically, work independently, and identify areas of improvement and propose solutions Ability to demonstrate professionalism and skill working in both an individual and team environment Ability to multi-task and consistently meet aggressive and time-sensitive deadlines in an ever-changing atmosphere Ability to maintain a full-time work schedule with regular in-person attendance is required for this position.
A full-time work schedule for this position includes, at a minimum, 40-hours per week, possibly more depending on work demands and priorities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong attention to detail Expertise in Word, Outlook and Excel required Physical demands for this position frequently include:
the ability to remain in a stationary position, move about freely inside and outside of the office, and the operation of mechanical controls, such as a keyboard.
